Unitied Nations – Human Rights Day, 10 December 2022 Theme: Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All

The Historical Society of Kjalarnes honours the day at The Celtic altar, 15 o´clock. It lasts about 30 minutes.

1.The chairman of The Society Steini, Hrefna Sigríður Bjartmarsdóttir, tells us of the meaning and the purpose of the day.

2.Open fire”: Members of The Society Steini will show and direct people how to erase injustice in the world, in a symbolic way, by throwing it on the fire.

3.Our vicar María Rut Baldursdóttir, offers a praying service and the choir of Reynivallaprestakall will sing a few Christmas hymns.

4.Then we´ll dance and sing some old traditional Icelandic children´s Christmas songs.

4.Then The Historical Society of Kjalarnes and The Parish Council of Reynivallaprestakall  invites us to some treats, cocoa, coffee and cakes and sweets. Among our guests are usually horses and we hope they will join us now. They like to have a bite of bread.
